POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager – Distribution Operations Support will lead people, process and systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams in the implementation of solutions that address strategic and continuous improvement initiatives for US Distribution and Logistics functions. Participates in strategic and operational activities within the value chain to create a competitive advantage and maintain shareholder value. Lead business improvement initiatives and assume a supporting role in the execution of large-scale business change initiatives.

This role will have the ability to bring focus on process design, stakeholder management, communication and education within a project environment and support managing transition from current state to future vision. Promotes cross-functional process improvement efforts across the value chain.

OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent Glenmark US Distribution and Logistics business by participating in design discussions and integration workshops to review, discuss recommend changes to the process and develop solutions that address local regulations, trading partner and country-specific requirements
  • Coordinate, monitor and lead cross-functional teams with a focus on ensuring that key objectives and project deliverables are met.
  • Identify and document business and technical requirements, analyze change impacts and develop change impact action plans, track and coordinate issues resolution by working closely with functional teams to ensure efficient integration, outline strategic and operational reporting needs.
  • Support all aspects of change management, SOP/Work instruction changes, develop roles and responsibilities and provide WMS training for the end users.
  • Coordinate training and change management activities to align with process changes and prioritize implementation of new Distribution & Logistics functionalities to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate/lead and prioritize development of functional and/or technical requirements, process/system enhancement requests and configuration documents for various change initiatives.
  • Support Distribution operations on day-to-day production support and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor day-to-day system (IBMi) performance and communicate recommendations and changes to IBMi administration team.
  • Maintain detail records of system configurations, changes and maintenance activities; diagnose and resolve system issues
  • Create and maintain IBMi job schedule for all WMi batch jobs
  • Create system back up schedule; implement and maintain security measures for IBMi and WMi users.
  • Coordinate/lead and execute the following process validations as part of QA process
    • Installation qualification (IQ) to verify the equipment and system has been installed and configured according to specifications
    • Operational qualification (OQ) to test the equipment and system under the specified operating conditions to ensure it functions correctly.
    • Performance qualification (PQ) to confirm the equipment and system consistently produce results meeting predetermined acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with ITQA and cross-functional teams to conduct the qualifications as documented in the validation plan (User requirement specification, impact assessment, risk analysis, traceability matrix, qualification plans and report and deviation reports)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination

Experience

  • 7+ years of Project Management / support experience in the areas of Distribution/Logistics, business process, continuous improvement initiatives, system integrations, data analysis/KPI reporting and in-depth working knowledge of Manhattan Associates WMi platform.
  • 5+ years of overall experience in pharmaceutical/Life sciences industry, experience in change management, training, education or related experience is desirable.
  • Background in SAP or other ERP system with integration with Manhattan WMi system knowledge is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution concepts (GDP, GXP)

Knowledge and Skills (Functional / Technical)

  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Problem solving and an ability to work in a fast-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team environment.
  • Understanding of cGMP and System development life cycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in IBMi administration and understanding of operating system and DB2 database; knowledge of various IBMi utilities DBU, WRKQRY, SQL and MQ is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Power point and Visio)

  • The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office
  • Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds
